David Brown

The trustee-room questions that modern universities increasingly bring to outside counsel.

Practice

David is instructed by colleges, universities, independent schools, and education-sector investors across the legal architecture facing modern educational institutions. His instructions span accreditation engagement, faculty and employment matters, Title IX, institutional governance, and the federal and state regulatory framework that increasingly shapes the sector.

David is an active voice in higher-education advocacy in Washington and contributes regularly to the firm’s policy work on accreditation and federal student aid. He has held visiting appointments at two graduate schools of education and writes on the law of academic affairs.

He is called to the bar of the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, and New York.
